Apple Store Anniversary

Apple launched the iOS Apple Store on June 15, 2010

On June 14, 2010, Apple launched the Apple Store app on iPhone, giving customers a dedicated app on their phones to buy, well... new phones (and other stuff too).

Over the years, the Apple Store app has been my go-to place for trying to preorder new Apple devices because, nine times out of ten, it is the first to open and fastest way to checkout.

A 'few years ago' (nearly a half decade at this point), Michael Steeber, writing for 9to5Mac, wrote a fantastic piece about the history and evolution of the Apple Store app that I encourage you to check out. I've used the web.archive link because the source website isn't loading the images properly.

But here's the original app icon on the 14th anniversary of iOS Apple Store, which you can set it through the Shortcuts app to be a custom app icon for the Apple Store app. And if you're unfamiliar with setting custom icons in iOS via the shortcuts app, good friend Stephen Robles (aka The Bearded Teacher) has created a great tutorial to guide you through the process.
