Apple Pencil Case
The Apple Pencil Case is a $29 leather sleeve that fits the first-generation Apple Pencil. An orange Apple Pencil case initially debuted alongside a one-of-a-kind yellow-coloured iPad Pro & blue suede Smart Cover designed by Sir Jonathan Ive in a fundraiser for London's Design Museum in April 2016. However, it was not made available for purchase until WWDC 2017 when the accessory debuted alongside the 10.5" iPad Pro.
The description from Apple's website reads:
"A beautifully crafted case for Apple Pencil made of durable leather, it's available in colors that match other Apple accessories. It protects your Apple Pencil when you're not using it while making a graceful statement — cleanly and precisely designed, just like Apple Pencil."
The case was initially made available in Saddle Brown, Taupe, Midnight Blue, & Black, and later Product(Red), Electric Blue, & Soft Pink colours were added.
I can't imagine the accessory took off; after all, it's a $30 leather sleeve to protect your $99 Apple Pencil accessory. It’s an accessory for your accessory. Though it was undisputedly well crafted, it was expensive and would conflict with other cases that were beginning to offer Apple Pencil holsters into their designs.
On Apple's product Q&A page, Johnathan H. from Houston asks:
"Does this attach to something? Or is it just a fancy cover?"
Response:
"No it doesn't attach to anything."
It's just a fancy cover.
And that's about all that can be said about it. It's a fancy sleeve, from Apple, for your fancy Apple Pencil. If that sentence appealed to you, then you will like this case. If you clicked this post and read up to this point, then you and this case deserve each other. Otherwise, pay it no mind.
