Minimal M2

The M2’s 8-core CPU & 10-core GPU is beautifully showcased in this minimal geometric wallpaper.

M2, debuting first on the new MacBook Air & 13-inch MacBook Pro, is Apple's latest silicon for the Mac. It's a larger chip that adds 25% more transistors (16-to-20 billion), two additional graphics cores (8-to-10), 50% faster bandwidth (68-to-100 GB/sec), and new ProRes encode/decode engines.

Early benchmarks from Engadget show the new M2 to be ~14% on single-core & ~25% faster in multi-core CPU performance than the previous M1 from 2020, with up to 35% faster GPU performance. Although that's not nearly the same performance gains we saw in the quantum leap from Intel to Apple Silicon, it's nothing to turn your nose at either.

To celebrate the launch of M2, I am releasing a new geometric wallpaper inspired by the next-generation of Apple Silicon. The wallpaper features a blown up version of M2 chip created as part of my minimal M-series collection on a color-matched gradient background.

Taking Apple’s M2 schematic & turning it into a minimal chip design.

This M2 wallpaper is available for all your M2 and non-M2 devices, including versions for both your iPad & iPhone. Enjoy.
