Apple Downtown Detroit
Apple is opening a brand new retail store in downtown Detroit on September 19, 2025.
Apple is expanding its retail presence in the US with the opening of a new store in downtown Detroit. The store is scheduled to open the afternoon of Friday, September 19, coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, Air, & a trio of new Apple Watches. My thoughts and prayers to all the employees handling a new store AND an iPhone launch on the same day.
In classic Apple fashion, the debut of their newest retail space comes with a bespoke wallpaper: the Apple logo rendered in a sleek chrome finish, a nod to Motor City, paired with a bold, italicized “D” at its centre. Though common with many international store openings, I can’t recall many US stores getting a unique wallpaper ahead of their store openings, so this is a rare treat for sure.
I’ve archived the wallpaper here for posterity, since Apple’s retail wallpapers tend to vanish once the store officially opens. While I was only able to track down the Mac version online, I went ahead and created iPad and iPhone variations so you can use it across your other devices too. Enjoy!
