Dynamic iMessage

Would a dynamic Messages icon finally put an end the green-bubble, blue-bubble feud?

At the start of August, I created a concept for Messages that turned the blue-bubble, green-bubble controversy into an elegant, dynamic icon for iOS. Much like how Apple Pay on iPhone creates a unique gradient based on your spending habits, I wanted to imagine an icon that dynamically changed based on who the person interacted with. The more text & RCS messages someone sent, the greener their icon would be, while more iMessages would shift the icon bluer.

To follow up on that post, I wanted to post a small collection of 10 gradient images if you wanted to use gradient Messages on your Apple device. Enjoy!

If you're unfamiliar with setting custom icons in iOS via the shortcuts app, good friend Stephen Robles (aka The Bearded Teacher) has created a great tutorial to guide you through the process.
