iPhone Duo Wallpaper
Enjoy these upscaled wallpapers featuring during the Apple’s iPhone Duos debut.
On Wednesday, September 9, Apple unveiled its first foldable, the iPhone Duo. To create the device, Apple not only had to pull off an incredible amount of hardware engineering, but also significantly rethink how iOS operates as the user moves between the single outer display and the device’s expansive 1878 × 2670 internal screen.
Showcased on the iPhone Duo was this wallpaper, a mountainous, desert-like expanse that immediately reminded me of my Rancho Cucamonga series from a few years back.
The wallpapers available here aren’t the full-resolution on-device files. These started as smaller 2048 × 1024 images buried inside the USDZ files Apple publishes on its website. From there, I gave them a 4× upscale and a couple of passes of debanding, sharpening, and subtle noise to try to create as serviceable a version of these wallpapers as possible. Enjoy!
