Happy Accidents
As a result of the dozens of folks that've messaged me over the past day asking about the images I used in my latest MacBook entry, I am happy to share the wallpapers I create for y'all to download and enjoy!
When I was working on my entry about Apple bringing back the MacBook, I wanted to create desktop images that complemented the colourful exteriors the next generation of Apple laptops are rumoured to have. And having made a blue and a purple mockup, I set to work making a pair of blue and purple wallpapers to match.
The wallpapers were designed inside of Sketch, using the Mesh Gradients plugin. The folds featured on the wallpapers were, to quote Bob Ross, "happy accidents." I didn't initially intend them to be there, but a cursor slip inadvertently created the contour, and I liked the look so much that I built the two wallpapers around the concept. And decades-old Mac OS X fans may recognize the colours as inspired by old Mac OS X wallpapers, the Blue an homage to OS X Tiger, and the pink hues a nod to the default wallpapers of OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard.
Although I love a vibrant and detailed schematic, I love having at least one desktop on my Mac that features a clean, minimal and nondistracting design. These two wallpapers have fit the bill for me, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!
