What am I Going to Do with You?
The Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 11 Pro was released shortly after the launch of the iPhone 11 Pro & adds 50% more battery life to your iPhone through an additional 1430mAh battery.
Apple has been making battery cases for the iPhone since late 2015 when it released its first iterations for the iPhone 6s & 6S plus, and they announced their latest Smart Battery Case for the iPhone 11 Pro (11 & Pro Max as well) on November 20, 2019.
With its latest go-around, Apple added a dedicated camera button that'll instantly launch the iPhone's camera, whether or not the device is unlocked. A case that provided a significant bump in battery life now also made the iPhone an even better point-and-shoot made this case highly desirable with the increased travel to new and exotic locales that I had planned in 2020. As soon as Apple announced the case, I snatched one up as quick as I could!
But 2020 had other plans…
Nearly eight months into 2020 and all the weddings, sporting events, exhibitions, and travel plans I had have been cancelled or indefinitely postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. I'm not trying to come across as whiny, this pandemic has, at the very least, slagged a lot of plans for people this year, and it's still not clear when "near-normal" (never mind "normal") life will resume.
All of that is to say is that since purchasing the Smart Battery Case, the thing hasn't seen much action. None actually. The iPhone 11 Pro's battery is more than sufficient for my daily use case, and I've resisted using the case around the house because it isn't necessary. Out of the first million things I wished returned to normal, getting to use this case again isn't on that list, but if I had a list of million-and-one things, maybe finally getting to put on this case and take it abroad would make the cut.
