iPad Air Gradient
A recreation of Apple’s calming gradient wallpaper used on the original 2013 iPad Air.
We're currently on the fifth generation of the iPad Air (anxiously awaiting a sixth, rumoured to launch in the coming weeks). The First iPad Air marked a significant redesign of this iconic 9.7-inch tablet, it had reduced bezels, a 22% weight reduction, and was significantly thinner than its predecessor. It's a design that became so successful that years later, it was used as the blueprint for the first generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, smaller 9.7 & 10.5-iPad Pros, and remains the form factor of the 9th generation iPad released in 2021.

Many of the banner images and ads showcasing the new iPad Air used a beautifully soft blue to light teal gradient wallpaper. And having recently come across images of the original iPad Air again, I wanted to recreate the wallpaper for my devices. Made inside Pixelmator, the iPad Air Gradient is now available across the Mac, iPad, and iPhone. Enjoy.
